Between 1918 and 1920, Don Luigi Arborio Mella, fourth count of Sant'Elia, carried out a major renovation: the building took on a shape vaguely inspired by a medieval castle and the park was enlarged. Thanks to the Counts of Sant'Elia's many acquaintances within the wealthiest and most influential families in Italy and beyond, the villa became a meeting place and recreation ground for the high society of the time: the Romanov princesses and the royals of Italy were regular guests both in summer and winter for hunting.
As evidence of such influential friendships and important guests, two lounges, a gift from the Romanov princesses, can still be admired inside the building on the ground floor.
In 1959, the villa was sold to the family that currently owns it and was converted into a charming hotel.
In 1961, the villa was elevated by one floor and radically restored/restructured to its current form.

More specifically, the property consists of a main building that consists of a charming Art Nouveau villa of approximately 1,923 sqm, with a total of 25 en-suite bedrooms, including 6 luxury suites, some with sea views and terraces.
In addition, the building has a restaurant and a large kitchen.
